REGULAR SESSIONS (FALL2020/WINTER2021) REGISTRATION.
: First of all, thank you so much to those who already submitted your registration forms and tuition for the Fall session. If you have not registered yet. - please let me know your plans for this year (continue the lessons vs. discontinue the lessons; in-person lessons vs. online lessons) - Please submit the form (the form is attached) by Friday Aug. 27th - I still have some availability: a few slots on Monday & Wednesday; some slots on Thursday (Saturdays are full*). So, please contact me and discuss possible lesson times. The first lesson starts on Wednesday Sep.8th. So, if you are not sure about your first day of the lesson, please contact me. 2. Studio Policy including COVID -19 related rules. Please contact Rachel for more details. 3. CONCERT SERIES /RECITALS This year, there will be two Students' Recitals (Christmas in December & Year End in May) and three house concerts (online - Oct. Feb. & Jun). The students' recitals might be also placed in an online format depending on the situation. But if it is possible, I might consider arranging mini invitation-only recitals, in person. Since there are a lot of uncertainties, please stay tuned for further notifications. 4. Listening Assignment & Journal. Like last year, we will continue to have bi-weekly Listening Assignments. It is not mandatory, but listening is a very important part of music education in general. So, I strongly encourage students to do the listening assignment. The assignment will be updated bi-weekly on the website (https://pianowithrachel.weebly.com/student-lounge). Like our virtual Christmas recital, we are having virtual Year End Recitals. Even though it is not same as in-person, it is a great opportunity to see other students’ performance and perform in front of other people. This is a live performance and each session will be 20-30min (or shorter). You can invite your families and friends from all over the places - one good thing about the virtual recital. Group 1@ 1:30; Group 2@ 2:00; Group 3@ 2:30. Please sign up if you have not done yet. Also, those who has already signed up, please confirm the time and the title of music. The link will be sent out by May 20th and will be posted on the website - pianowithrachel.weebly.com 2. Extra lessons and summer lessons - Most students will have their last lesson either the last week of May or the first week of June. If you would like to add couple more lessons at the end of June, please contact me, and I will suggest some options. - I have attached the summer lesson registration form with the schedule (Tuesday’s and Wednesdays). If you want to continue the lessons during summer, please see the attachment and submit the form. 3. Regular Session 2021/2022 registration. The regular session registration has been started. I have attached form for the next regular session. When you have decided to continue the lessons next year and secure your time slots, please submit the form and payment (either the first quarter, or post dated cheque’s) by the end of May. You can still register after May. But, since the registration will be opened to the new students from June 1st, there might be some limitations to arrange your preferred lesson slots. If you have any questions about the registrations both summer and next year, please feel free to contact me. 4. Progress reports The Year End progress report will be sent out the second week of June. So, please stay tuned. This reports are only provided to young students (no adult students) who study with me more that a semester. So, if your child has been taking lessons less than a semester (less than 4months), you might not receive the reports. 5. Missing lessons and make-up schedule - If you occasionally miss lessons without notification or any reasonable explanations in advance OR cancel the lesson in the last minutes (less than 24 hours), the missed lesson will be still charged and counted as one of your registered lessons . In general, the policy indicated that you need 48hours advanced notification to reschedule. |
