Q. What is your rate for the wedding ceremony? A. Please see the "Prices" or click here.
Q. What is the booking process? A. 1. Click the button above "Book Rachel" and give information about your big day 2. Once I check my schedule, I send you an email to make an arrangement of in-person consultation session. 3. After the consultation session and you make a decision, you sign the contract and pay $25 deposit to secure your booking.
Q. When is the balance due? A. Your contract and Invoice will specify the due date of the balance. It is usually a week (7 days) before the wedding date.
Q. Can I pay either on the wedding day or after the wedding day? A. The wedding day and after the wedding days can be extremely busy for newly married couple - especially the wedding day. Preparing wedding music and hiring musicians are just like booking all other venues and other wedding prep items. It is always better to be taken care of in advance, prior to the wedding day, for both parties.
Q. Can I request certain types of music? A. Of course. You can simply either provide a music score, title of the music and composer, or even Youtube links that you want me to play for your special day.
Q. What type of music can you provide? A. I am classically trained. However, I am able to play various genre from hymnal, New age, Movie sound tracks, Pops and etc. If you want me to play the music I've never heard of, I am open to learn and master them.
Q. Would you work with other instrumentalists or vocalists? A. Yes. It is always pleasure to work with other musicians. If you hire other musician and you want me to accompany them, I would be happy to do so. If one rehearsal is enough, there will be no charge. However, if the rehearsal is required more than one, there will be a charge ($45) from the second rehearsal.
Q. How far can you travel? A. It will be depending on the distance. I can travel within Winnipeg and some outside of Winnipeg. There is no travel charge within Winnipeg, but there is some travel charges for outside Winnipeg venue depending on the distance.
Q. Can I request over time on site? A. It will be depending on the schedule. If I do not have any other schedule, then I can accommodate your over time request. For the over time playing, the request should be made 30 min prior to the arranged end time. The payment also has to be made promptly when the over time is requested.
Q. Does the piano have to be on site? What if there is no piano on site? A. I prefer to use a nicely tuned piano on site.
If there is no piano on site, there are couple options: Option 1, you can set up your own keyboard or portable piano (and other equipment) if you have your own instrument. Option 2. you can rent instrument and equipment either from retails (such as Long and Mcquade) or from people you know.
There are several reasons why I leave the instrument preparation responsibility to the wedding parties. 1. The wedding parties know the venue the best. So, they can either talk to the rental store directly what they need and what equipment can be the best for their venue.
2. In terms of budget, if I need to prepare the equipment, there will be extra charge for equipment and set-up. Therefore, when the wedding parties have a responsible for equipment and set-up, they have more control over their own budget. If they have their own keyboard that they can set-up, or they know someone who has what they need and rent for free (or low cost), it gives financial advantage for the wedding parties.
When the wedding parties need some advise in terms of rental process and equipment, I am very happy to help them out.
